The Weekly ONE Thing- Some Like It Hot!

Updated: Aug 18, 2019

Last week's weekly ONE Thing question was "What is ONE Thing you can do this week to acknowledge someone you love in a meaningful way?" I said my ONE Thing was going to be to take my dad out for tea or coffee, (and possibly cheesecake), and give him my undivided attention. I made a date with him for later this month and we had fun reminiscing about the times we went when I was little. I hope you had fun acknowledging someone that you love, if you did last week's challenge.

With school and activities winding up in the next week or two, I thought a good question for this week is, "What is ONE thing you can do to prepare for a fabulous summer?" It could be to plan a fun family vacation, or hiking trips or picnics. It could be to make plans with friends. It could be to pursue a hobby you love. It could be to plant a garden or flowers or buy new patio furniture. Or maybe get a new summer outfit. Pick something that gets you excited about summer.

My ONE Thing is to get my body ready for summer. I want to feel good in my swimsuit and summer dresses. So my plan is to keep up my exercise routine and complete the Diva's half marathon that I signed up to do next Sunday. I did it last year and it was so much fun that I convinced my friend to sign up with me again for this year. Doing this run is something that I was already going to do, so it doesn't really count as my ONE Thing. Something that is much harder for me than exercise, is to eat a clean diet, (without sugar, wheat, dairy, processed foods), so I am kicking things off today by starting a 12 day clean eating cleanse and then keep on the plan, but slowly layer in some favourite treats, but as the exception rather than the rule. So now I won't have that cheesecake when I go for tea with my dad. Wish me luck! And good luck to you on whatever you choose for your ONE Thing!

As always, I would love to hear from you on what you will do this week. Feel free to share in the comments below, on Facebook or in our Weekly ONE Thing Facebook Group!
