Last week's your turn to make up your Weekly ONE Thing Challenge. I hope you learned something from whatever you challenged yourself to do.
I had said I wanted to challenge myself to "be peaceful" in the midst of a busy week. I kept this focus in mind as I went through the week. I found that planning my days helped me stay focused and less stressed. And the breathing came in handy in moments of feeling overwhelmed. In the end, everything went great...not perfect, but great. The nice thing for me was that I felt present and didn't get stressed out if every detail wasn't perfect. I was able fully enjoy each event this week, which is what I wanted for myself.
We are now into the second week of December, with Christmas only a little more than 2 weeks away. This is the time of year that starts to feel so busy with preparations for the holidays. I find that sometimes I get so busy in December with all the things that need to be done, that I miss part of the beauty of the season. So this week's question is, "What is ONE thing you can do this week to get you in the holiday spirit?"
That has a wide scope for possibilities. It could be to decorate your home with your favourite holiday decorations, have a party with friends and family, send cards to people you care about, go carolling, wrapping presents while watching holiday movies, or just curling up by the fire with a loved one. I think I would like to do all of them! But I am choosing to spend one evening watching a Netflix Christmas movie with my daughter, (it would be too painful for my husband and son to join us). That seems like a decadent holiday tradition for me.
What will you do this week to get in the holiday spirit? I would love to hear your ideas. Please share anything you would like in the comments below, or in our Weekly ONE Thing Facebook Group!
