The Weekly ONE Thing - Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway

Writer: ChantalChantal

Leap of Faith

Last week my question was, "What is ONE Thing you can do to spice up your weekly routine?" I hope you had fun with it. I said I was going to learn a new Zumba dance to add it to my exercise routine. I had a lot of fun with that. It didn't take much time and it definitely spiced up my daily routine. I am going to keep that routine up.

My question this week is, what is ONE thing that you would love to do if you didn't let fear get in the way? Maybe it's something really daring, like skydiving or bungee jumping? Or maybe it's something that sounds easy, but makes you feel uncomfortable, like making a phone call or booking an appointment that you have been avoiding. Maybe it's talking to a friend or relative who you need to clear the air with. Or it could be doing a job that you have been putting off because there is some sort of fear behind your avoidance. Whatever you choose, pick something that will make you feel proud of yourself for doing it. And choose something that will make your life better.

The fear I am challenging myself to face this week, is to expand my coaching practice. I have been coaching a select group of clients for the past year, and that has fit in well with my life. I have been reluctant to expand because I didn't want to feel spread too thin. I was afraid that saying yes to accepting more clients would mean saying no to other priorities in my life. But I feel like now is the right time for me to expand my practice and I have created space for 5 more clients. And as part of my stretch outside my comfort zone, I am asking my network of followers and friends to refer me to anyone they know who is interested in having a coach. I am looking to coach people who are going through a time of transition, such as a change in employment (or desired change in employment), family changes such as children leaving home or relationship changes. I think having a coach when you are shifting into a new stage of life is a great advantage. It creates an opportunity to get a clear vision of what you want to create in this next phase of life and develop a plan to achieve it. It helps you to be more intentional about the way you want to live and be.

So if you think of someone who would like to create their optimal experience for their next phase in life, please have them contact me. I would love to chat about what they truly want for themselves and the possibility of working together to help them achieve it.

As always, I would love to hear from you about what your ONE thing is for yourself. Please share in the comments on this site or on Facebook or in our Weekly ONE Thing Facebook Group.

I thought I'd finish with a few quotes that seem to fit with this week's ONE thing question and coaching.
